nail polish trends 2015

A year has passed since I started 2014 by predicting some nail polish trends for the new year. And now it is time to do so again for this new year. Sooo, what will the nail polish year of 2015 bring us polish addicts? What colors to wear? And what kind of finishes are to be the largest trends of 2015? These are my predictions, hopes and dreams for the nail polish year of 2015:

metallic

In 2015 I think the metallic finishes are coming back in a large scale. One hint is to look at the new spring collection of Chanel for 2015. The have launched a set of three different polishes and Paradisio is a green toned silver metallic polish. I think more brands will follow.

Paradisio

velvet

In 2015 we will also see a broad spectrum of velvet, or suede, polishes. This finish is not new in any way, but it has been a couple of years since the matte velvet finish was hot. Now it is coming back. One of my absolute favourite brands, Dance Legend, recently launched a line of velvet polishes. I got to get my hands on some of those. Take a look at Llarowe if you are interested in this perfect polish brand. You won’t get disappointed. And take a look at the amazing swatches at Lakoman.

dusty colors

In 2014 we saw a lot of dusty shades. Especially the dusty purple toned taupe color could be seen in a wide range of collections. The dusty color scale will be trendy even in 2015 I think.  The purple taupe will still be around, followed by dusty green and blue.

flakes

Another oldie that is coming back is the trend of flake glitter polishes. Flakes were big a couple of years ago, especially the brand Nfu Oh had a line of stunningly beautiful flake polishes. Flakes have been quite absent in the nail polish world since, but recently Llarowe launched a collection of flakies, the Doctor Who Collection, and suddenly flakes are trendy again. So dust of your old flake polishes or buy some new ones, from Llarowe or another of all the other manufacturers that are to follow. See some more great swatches of the Doctor Who Collection at Set in Lacquer.

So, these are my predictions. Am I right? Who knows, the future will bring clarity in that matter.

What are your hopes and expectations for 2015?

lovely blink blink no. 4

Have you tried this brand before? Lovely Blink Blink?

unknown for me

This is a polish I got last year as a birthday gift. Thanks Maja! I was sooo excited to get a nail polish from a brand that was completely new to me. I had never heard of it before and this is the one and only polish from Lovely Blink Blink in my stash. When I googled the brand I found it on a polish website ( a website from Poland, not a nail polish site in this polish case).

Lovely Blink Blink nail polish

interesting, in a boring costume

The combination of glitters in this polish is quite interesting and I don’t think I have any other polish in my stash like it. It has a sheer base filled with green micro glitters. The green is accompanied by pink squares and prismatic hexagons in two different sizes. I like this odd combination. On the pictures I wear one coat of Lovely Blink Blink No 4 over a white base, OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.

But the name?! Why can’t manufacturers take their time to name their products properly? There can’t be any more boring labels than those marked with just a number. Nothing else.

Wow, such an eye-catching polish. I can’t take my eyes away from it!

the show off collection

Show Me Da Money is one of four multi chrome polishes from the Show Off collection which was launched by Llarowe this summer. They all have a deep and intense shifting color scale, topped with a hint of holographic sparkle. I love them all!

 a bit streaky

The big drawback with these polishes are the streaky formula. Up close it can be seen, but mostly it drowns in the color shifting finish so I can live with it. The colors really varies depending on the lightning and sometimes you see a flash of holo. Show Me Da Money is an ever shifting beauty of gold, green and yellow. Can’t get tired of it!

Dance Legend Moondust

My nails and polishes always follow my mood swings and the other day when I had a rough day I felt the need for something dark. And my choice fell on Dance Legend Moondust.

Dance Legend has quickly risen to be one of my absolute favorite brands. Great formula and inventive collections and color combinations. Moondust belongs to their texture collection Sahara Crystal.  The texture polishes of Dance Legend are a bit different from other textures I’ve tried. They dry to a finish that look kind of plastic and artificial, with quite small sizes on the “sand” particles. I love this finish!! Take a look at Luxy Glam as well, also from the Sahara Crystal line of Dance Legend.

This dark, almost black, blue polish is just my taste. This will be worn again and again and again…

By the way: Take a look at more blue beauties at Tove’s Blue Monday!

Förresten: Spana in fler blå skönheter hos Tove och hennes blå måndag!

This is just crazy ladies!! Take a look at the breath taking shimmer in this beauty; I’ll be Sea-ing You from the new Emily’s Imagination collection of Colors by Llarowe.

Blue and pink is one of my favorite color combination so this gem was a must when the collection was launched the other week.  And yesterday I got a huge package of amazing new friends. Haul picture is coming later, I just had to grab this treasure for a swatch at first.

Three coats, easy application, but still a little VNL (not that it bothers me though). And some extra bling for company. Today I will spam you with pictures. Can’t get enough of this polish!!

Colors by Llarowe It’s Spring Somewhere

DSC_0622 - version 2

Yay! I’m finally back from our vacations in France. I’ve had a couple of amazing weeks at the french coast at my husband’s family residence, but it feels great to be back home. Especially since I’ve missed my blog and my polishes.

My absolute favorite polish for this summer has been the beauty It’s Spring Somewhere from Colors by Llarowe. An amazing raspberry jelly with a golden shimmer. Stunning!! The formula is just perfection, two coats and you are done. Love it!!

Äntligen tillbaka från semestern! Som jag längtat hem till bloggen och mina lack. Men vi har haft ett par underbara veckor vid franska kusten hos min makes familj, så det har varit en riktigt härlig tid.

Mitt absoluta favoritlack denna sommar har blivit It’s Spring Somewhere från Colors by Llarowe.
